BrokerDesk is an app for real estate brokers to store, search and share their property listings. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it is kept, who can see it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act") and the requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store.

In short: we collect what the app needs to work and nothing else. We don't sell data, show ads or track you across other apps. Owner details you store stay private: they never appear in anything you share. You can export your listings or delete your account at any time.

1. Who we are

BrokerDesk is provided by Besser Wisser Solution Private Limited, a company incorporated in India, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 382481 ("we", "us"). For the purposes of the DPDP Act we are the Data Fiduciary for the data described here.

2. What we collect

Your account

Mobile number, to log you in with a one-time code by SMS.
Name, agency name and city, which you enter when you sign up, and an optional RERA agent number.
Your role (agency owner or staff member) and which agency you belong to.

Your listings

Property details you enter: type, area, city, price, size, BHK, furnishing, floor, availability and similar facts.
Photos you take or pick. They are re-encoded on your phone before they are stored, which removes location (GPS) and camera details.
Files you attach, such as builder brochures, floor plans, price lists and documents.
Private details: owner name and phone number, exact address, commission terms, private notes and files tagged "Document". These are kept apart from the rest of a listing and protected more strictly (see section 5).
Saved searches, and who added or last changed each listing and when.

Technical data

A security check (Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity) that confirms requests come from the genuine app on a real device.
Basic server records such as IP address and time of request, kept by our providers for security and to keep the service running.

What we don't collect

We don't read your contacts. If you use "Pick from contacts", your phone's own picker opens and only the one contact you choose is copied into the listing.
We don't use your location. Photos lose their location before they are saved.
No advertising identifiers, no ads, no tracking across other apps or websites. This website sets no cookies.

We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you create an account and can withdraw at any time by deleting it (section 8), and for the legitimate uses the DPDP Act allows, such as keeping the service secure.

4. Property owners' details

When you store an owner's name, number or address, you do so for your own work as a broker. You are responsible for having the owner's agreement to keep their details and for using them lawfully. We store them only so that you (and, if you allow it, your staff member) can see them, and we never show them to anyone else.

5. Who can see your data

You and your staff member. Everyone in your agency sees the listings. Private details are visible to your staff member only if you switch that on; this is enforced on our servers, not only in the app.
The people you share with. When you share a listing, the app builds the text, photos and brochure on your phone from the public details only, and your phone hands them to WhatsApp or the app you choose. We don't send them.
Our service providers, who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC): login by SMS code and the security check.
- Supabase: database and file storage, in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region.
- Cloudflare: hosting of this website only.
The law. We disclose data when Indian law requires it, for example on a valid order from a court or government authority.

We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

6. Where it is stored and how it is protected

Your listings are kept on your phone first, so the app works offline, and backed up to our servers in Mumbai, India.
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS).
Each agency's data is separated on the server: an account can only read its own agency's records, and private details have a stricter rule of their own.
Photos and files are kept in private storage that only your agency can open.
Firebase login may process your number on Google's servers outside India for the SMS code.

7. How long we keep it

While your account is active, we keep your data so the service works.
If your subscription ends, your listings are kept for at least 90 days so you can come back or export them.
When you delete your account, your data is deleted at once from our servers and from your phone. If a copy remains in a provider's routine backup, it expires within 7 days.
When a staff member leaves an agency, the listings they added stay with the agency; when they delete their account, their name and number are removed.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can:

See the data we hold about you: everything is in the app, and the owner can export all listings to Excel from Settings.
Correct or update it: edit your profile and listings in the app.
Erase it: delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete account) or ask us to delete it.
Withdraw consent, which you do by deleting your account.
Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or can't act yourself, by writing to us.
Raise a grievance with us (section 11), and then, if you are not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Children

BrokerDesk is a professional tool for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data about children.

10. Changes to this policy

When the app changes what it collects, for example when subscriptions, crash reports or notifications are added, we will update this page and change the date at the top. For significant changes we will also tell you in the app.
